Brian Dowd has been married since October 8, 2000 to Kristy and they have two beautiful daughters, Caroline (8y) and Annabelle (5y.)
Brian has worked in the telecommunications industry since July of 1998 with a concentration in Voice over IP (VoIP), Sr. Management, Process, Procedures, Strategic Planning, Network Design & Evolution, Routing Logic & Evolution and much more. Currently Brian holds position as Director, International Voice Network Engineering at Tata Communications. Some of his responsiblities are in design voice network architecture, call flows, QA Lab Management, QA testing and implementation of the Voice over IP softswtich infrastructure. His team also develops TCL’s proprietary routing engine and manage it’s evolution to maximize their profit and customer quality.
Outside of work Brian spends most of his time with Kristy, Caroline and Annabelle. He enjoys his time with family and friends. They can often be found at the boardwalk, beach, vacations, back yard BBQs, in the pool, movies and other great family events.
Brian is also active in the cancer community. He is the Jersey Shore Area LIVESTRONG Leader and has been an avid supporter of LIVESTRONG since being diagnosed with testicular cancer on June 2, 2006. In February 2007 Brian founded Team Down One. The mission of Team Down One was to raise funds for LIVESTRONG supporting critical programs for survivorship. Between 2007-2011 Brian and Team Down One raised over $70,000 for LIVESTRONG. In 2012, Brian wants to focus on the community and has created a new team Jersey Shore Area for LIVESTRONG to participate in events.
He is also a 6x LIVESTRONG Challenge participant, 2x LIVESTRONG Summit Delegate, 2x Ride for the Roses participant and recently a 2x LIVESTRONG Assembly LIVESTRONG Leader Program. In 2012 Brian was selected by LIVESTRONG to become a Senior LIVESTRONG Leader and leads Region #1 (NJ, CT, RI.)
Brian currently is also on the Board of Directors for the Testicular Cancer Society.
