Tomorrow the House is to vote on the funding for this year- includes major cuts to NIH and CDC.

The bill would cut the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) budget by $1.3 billion and the National Institute of Health’s (NIH) budget by $1.6 billion. A 21% cut in CDC funding will shortchange critical cancer screening and prevention programs and cost us dearly in American lives lost. A 5.2% cut to the NIH budget will slow biomedical research to find and prove new and better cancer treatment.

Cancer costs our country more than $268 billion annually, so preventing cancer and improving how we treat people with the disease is an essential investment. Millions of people are depending on you to defend their lives and their loved ones.
